Make a good estimate
Dear Brainfinity participants, nowadays, we are bombarded from all sides by all sorts of information which is often contradictory. You must have heard a million different theories about something topical on the Internet, e.g. on YouTube, whether it’s to do with ecology, sport, or kangaroos.
How do you identify the truth in all that? It’s difficult, isn’t it?
All right, maybe you can’t know what’s true for certain, but you can make a good estimate about which part of what we’re watching, reading or listening to is most probably true, i.e. closest to the truth.
How to solve the sixth Brainfinity problem?
- Step 1 is to form a four-member team (if you still haven’t got one), think up of an original name for it, and design an eye-catching logo. More details on the application process can be found HERE.
- Step 2 is to register your team. You register by filling out this online application form.
- Step 3 is logging into the platform, where the new challenge awaits from January 25. If you already have a team, you just need to log in.
- Step 4 is downloading the challenge from the platform, where you will find detailed instructions on how to solve it.
And that’s it. The game is on!
Did you know this: How you reach an estimate is often more important than the estimate itself!
Applicants are often expected to make an estimate in a job interview, but also to explain how they came up with the estimate and based on what.
An explanation is valued more than the estimate itself, regardless of the accuracy of the estimate. Your way of thinking is a much better recommendation for most jobs. Also, there are usually no right or wrong answers, just as there are none in problem solving.
