This year, Brainfinity finals brought together quite a large number of young problem solvers. The event was marked by a great mood, friendship and a healthy competitive spirit.
We present you a part of the proceedings, along with impressions from students, teachers and organizers:
The teams – 42 of them – solved three Brainfinity problems each, and presented their solutions to the jury.
As competition grows, jury’s job gets harder
The interest in Brainfinity competitions has been growing from year to year, along with the number of teams that apply. Such a response makes the job of the jury quite hard, as the competition has gotten rather fierce. Most competitors exhibit an impressive level of problem solving skills and keep surprising each other and the jury by original and thorough solutions to Brainfinity problems.
This is why the jury chose to opt for harder problems, and the contestants did great despite the complexity of Brainfinity problems. The ratings were decided by the subtlest of nuances.
Teachers learning from students
In his speech before the medal ceremony for the winners, the founder of Brainfinity, Mr. Ivan Anić, admitted that expert teams who come up with Brainfinity problems for contestants are sometimes not quite sure about the best solutions themselves, and that they look forward to students’ solutions in order to analyze them and learn from them.
New Brainfinity adventure starts in September
We would like to inform everyone who might be interested that the next Brainfinity competition will begin in September, as usual, and that the rules will be the same as in the earlier years.
We look forward to seeing the teams we have already met again, and to meeting new contestants who will embark upon the Brainfinity problem solving adventure, learn a lot of useful things and have a great time!
See you in September!
