The Brainfinity challenge is never easy. However, contestants in this year’s Brainfinity challenge were faced with a particularly challenging and perplexing problem.

It was a cryptology problem.

As one of the most complex disciplines, cryptology/cryptography has always enabled mankind to safely communicate and exchange messages of utmost importance and urgency, the content of which was to remain confidential at all costs.

The code given to our contestants was not an easy task. As a matter of fact, experts in the field of mathematics, programming and related disciplines underperformed, to put it mildly, when they tried to break the same code.

Out of twenty experts who tried to break the code, barely two managed to overcome this challenge, admitting that they went all out to solve it.

All Brainfinity finalists managed to crack the complex code without exception.

Some did it with ease, while others struggled, but the fact is that all contestants succeeded in mastering the challenge that had left experienced professionals racking their brains to no avail.

The contestants were allowed to send an SOS email and receive five lifelines, but none of them used up more than three. They had no need to, because they relied on logical thinking and creativity to find the correct answer.

Does this outstanding success mean that we have ingenious cryptologists among our youngest population, who are able to solve even those problems that the most experienced professionals cannot?
